ALMATY (A.A) - 28.04.2006 - "Turkey aims to host 30 million tourists in 2010 and earn 30 billion USD from this industry," said Atilla Koc, Turkish Minister of Culture & Tourism, today.

Koc met tour operators in Almaty (Kazakhstan) on Friday and informed them about Turkey's initiatives to promote tourism.

"You the guys, tour operators, are the ones who will help us reach our goals in tourism. It is our duty to cooperate with you and support you," noted Koc.

Koc remarked that Turkey does not look at tourism solely as an economic source of income. "Tourism helps cultural interaction. The more tourists arrive in Turkey from Kazakhstan and vice versa, the more closer we will get culturally," commented Koc.
